Foreign Trade Days: Digital Dialogues host focus session

During the Foreign Trade Days of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the GIZ secretariat for the Digital Dialogues hosted a virtual focus session. Experts discussed how they can jointly shape digitalisation in foreign markets – ensuring that the most relevant questions and topics are addressed and solved.

Experts exchanged their views on digitalisation in foreign markets.

From 19 to 23 April 2021, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) run the Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion Days – a virtual five-day event with about 70 expert fora. It offered companies the opportunity to exchange information on international markets, focus sectors and innovative funding concepts. The GIZ secretariat for the Digital Dialogues, commissioned by BMWi, hosted the focus session “International Digital Dialogues: Jointly Shaping Digitalisation in Foreign Markets” on 19 April.

About 140 participants from different sectors around the world gained insights into the scope and format of the International Digital Dialogues. In video statements, political partners and industry representatives shared their experiences and views on the challenges and opportunities of the digital economy. The subsequent panel discussion gathered experts from India, Brazil, Mexico, Japan and Germany. They discussed current topics of international business and digitalisation and responded to questions from the audience.

International Digital Dialogues for more joint and transparent action in digitalisation

BMWi engages important partner countries to shape better conditions for digitalisation and the digital economy. GIZ supports these Digital Dialogues with India and Brazil with an open platform for exchange between policy makers, regulators and businesses. The active involvement of actors from business and society ensures that the most relevant questions and topics are addressed and solved.

Satellite event at the AsiaBerlin summit 2025: Insights on the EU Tech Business Offer

On 27 November, the German Federal Ministry for Digitalisation and Government Modernisation (BMDS) hosted a satellite event at the AsiaBerlin summit for Asian companies. The event, for the first time ever, gave attendees the chance to ask questions directly to the European Commission on the recently launched EU Tech Business Offer. It also equipped the guests with practical information on the opportunities provided through the EU Tech Business Offer and the International Digital Dialogues.
