CCW 2026 Side Event: Near- and Offshoring Potential in Africa and the Western Balkans

On the sidelines of CCW 2026, the official side event "Nearshoring, Offshoring or Outsourcing? German Growth through International Talent" took place at the Estrel in Berlin. Kenyan-German working group examines IT outsourcing and labour market trends

On 28 January, this year’s first meeting of the Kenyan-German Working Group on Global Business Services (Business Process and IT Outsourcing) took place. The online session focused on the state of IT labour market in Germany and Kenya. The Friedrich-Naumann Foundation in Kenya (FNF) and the Trends and Insights for Africa Institute (TIFA) presented their market survey report on “Enabling Ethical Outsourcing between Kenya and Germany”. Scaling up the Indo-German Digital Dialogue: A record of the 2026 annual meeting

India and Germany convened their annual Digital Dialogue in January 2026, affirming a shared commitment to move from policy exchange to concrete, delivery-oriented cooperation – across artificial intelligence, semiconductors, digital public infrastructure, and digital sovereignty. The Digital Dialogue is a partnership between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of India and Germany's Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation (BMDS).

Stakeholder consultation in Tokyo: Greater involvement of industry

A desire for more exchange and cooperation, as well as specific digital policy concerns – these were the topics of discussion at a meeting of German industry representatives at the AHK Japan in Tokyo. The meeting took place on 16 December under the auspices of the Japanese-German Digital Dialogue and with the support of the German Embassy. The result of the half-day expert exchange is a more systematic, regular and in-depth involvement of German stakeholders in Japan.

Training day for MSMEs under the Mexican-German Digital Dialogue

On 9 December 2025, within the framework of the Mexican-German Digital Dialogue, the Mexican Ministry of Economy (Secretaría de Economía) and GIZ held the MSME Training and Capacity-Building Workshop (Jornada de Capacitaciones para MIPYMES). The event aimed to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in adopting digital and technological solutions to strengthen operations, competitiveness and resilience.
